WarDriving

One of my security "hobbies" is WarDriving. Before I go any further I want to clarify what I mean by WarDriving.

WarDriving:
WarDriving v. The searching for wireless networks by means of a roaming (driving, walking, busing?) wireless client. Sometimes accompanied by a high gain antenna and GPS.

Now that I've clarified that issue, let me continue. Many people who WarDrive will take the combined data (AP information and GPS location) and plot it to various maps.
I have recently started using MS Streets & Trips for my mapping. Click the image below for a more detailed sample of data from a couple of recent trips:

I have also found a free mapping tool that I like very much. It will automatically download satellite image tiles and topographic tiles to create maps for any location in the United States. I've included some sample maps below, with data mapped from wardrives in different locations (Thanks Thorn and others at NetStumbler for your contributions). These are large format maps (1024x768) so if you're running at a lower resolution this could be ugly. Also, I've turned on the data labels, and in some places there is a lot of overlap. I've turned on the labels to demonstrate the feature. The developer of USA Photo Maps was kind enough to add this feature at my request for this purpose. Please review the sample maps below.
